A part of the Keep America Beautiful Program, KPB seeks to improve the quality of life by eliminating litter, recycling, beautification, education and increased public awareness. Community
Organizations • Churches • Schools Every person has a part in reducing litter. KPB invites all individuals, civic groups and schools, as well as local area businesses to work together in achieving goals that will keep trash in its place. When you join KPB, you help to coordinate this effort. You may also participate in specific projects. |

Keep Pickens Beautiful is more than ten years old. In that period, much has been done to improve the appearance of our community by sponsoring the Adopt-A-Road Program, supervising community service workers and educating school children and the public as to the importance of a clean and safe environment. Beautification projects have also helped to improve the appearance of our community. |

County Today
Our landfill is full and has been closed. All our trash and garbage has to be transported to landfills outside the county at a considerable expense. As you know, much of it is illegally disposed of along our roadways and in remote hollows. We have been a prime mover in the successful recycling program in the county, however much remains to be accomplished.

can see a cleaner community by working together for long-term solutions.
What it takes is commitment to control litter through educating people,
using new technology, writing laws that are comprehensive and supporting
fair and firm enforcement plans.
