Keep Pickens Beautiful is a Pickens County, nonprofit, volunteer organization affiliated with Keep America Beautiful. Our work is focused to sustain litter reduction and voluntary recycling along with projects that enhance the beauty of our environment and improve solid waste management.
Keep Pickens Beautiful (KPB), formerly Citizens for a Clean Community, is an organization founded in 1990, comprised of a group of concerned citizens striving to develop a clean and beautiful environment for Pickens County. A part of the Keep America Beautiful Program, KPB seeks to improve quality of life by eliminating litter through increased public awareness. A key part of the waste "reduction" is "conservation" - using natural resources wisely and using less than usual in order to avoid waste. You an make a difference in these areas:
Visual:
- Litter Control
- Beautification
Ecological:
- Recycling (residential & commercial)
- Solid Waste Management
Public Awareness:
- Education
- Brochures
- Litter Survey & Index
At KPB we want you to know about us, to join us, and to do your part. Every one has a role! We can all learn to REDUCE, REUSE, AND RECYCLE. Georgia's Litter It Costs You program has adopted the Georgia Brown Thrasher as a mascot. "TRASHER" is here to remind you to put litter in its place, and to encourage you to get involved.
