APRIL PROCLAIMED GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP MONTH

KPB working with county and cities of Jasper, Talking Rock and Nelson.

April is proclaimed as Cleanup Month.  County Commissioner, Robert Jones, Mayor of Jasper, John Weaver, Mayor of Talking Rock, Peter Q Cagle Jr. and Mayor of Nelson, David Leister, are working together to cleanup and beautify Pickens County.  The Great American Cleanup is an event held each year at national, state and local levels, to do a spring cleanup. KPB would like to encourage residents of Pickens County to take part in the county wide cleanup during April. Cleanup events are planned in Talking Rock by Boy Scout Troop 1883, Saturday April 10, 2010, Nelson has designated Saturday April 10th and April 17th as their cleanup days.  The City of Jasper and Pickens County will be doing cleanup the whole month of April.  Watch the Pickens Progress for special events you can participate in.  If your group or family is planning to do something special, let KPB know so we can recognize your efforts.
