GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP BEGINS THIS WEEK

Keep Pickens Beautiful has kicked off the Great American Cleanup for April with a changes from previous years.  The following is a list of events planned for April; see if you would like to take advantage of these opportunities to recycle items around your home.

April 10, 2010  ~ Boy Scout Troop 1883 of Talking Rock is secluded for a town cleanup and  planting bushes and flowers.

April 10 ~17, 2010 ~ Saturdays are set up for cleanup in Nelson

April 10, 2010 ~  Trash recycling event in the KPB parking lot from 9:00 ~ 11:30 am

April 24, 2010  ~ KPB booth at the Farmers Market

April 24, 2010 ~  KPB is providing a paper shredder in our parking lot from 2:30 ~ 5:00 pm.  Shred and recycle a banker’s box of paper for $3.00.

Many of the same activates will be taking place,

• Adopt A Road Volunteers out picking up their assigned roads.

The recycle centers will be accepting:

• 4 scrap tires per family, off the rims free of charge (no businesses or large truck)

•  unused paint

• old batteries

• as well as all of the other every day recycle items; glass, aluminum, papers, cardboard/paste board, metal and e-waste.
